Ok- God didn't make these paintings, but He did make the enormous dinosaur shark that they're based off of. Remember the Megalodon? It was a little bit bigger than Jaws... and apparently did nothing but eat whales and plesiosaurs all day:

Vietnamese Grasshopper
Evil Robot Grasshopper! (From Space!)
Not sure what it's actual name is- I found it on a photographer's blog. It's worth clicking the below link to check out some of Vietnam's other amazing insect life!

Dragon's Blood Trees
Despite their uncanny resemblance to alien spacecraft, these trees are surprisingly just trees. (But they do bleed red sap!)
These amazing plants can only be found on the exclusive Island of Socotra. Stay tuned for more posts from Socotra... that island is flat-out RAD...

Running Crocodile
Just in case you thought you were safe on land...
(Just look at this guy go!)
(Also, don't wanna be a Kent Hovind or anything but... the blurb about "Ee-volution" at the end is just kinda silly!)

Frilled Shark
A little bit scary. (But still pretty sweet.)
Apparently they always swim with their mouth open.

Sea Pig
Finally a sea cucumber that walks.
What we have all secretly hoped for.
(Apparently they look more "pig-like" when taken out of water.)

BUDGETT'S FROG
And here's the creature that started it all.
When I stumbled on this beautiful portrait of a hefty Budgett's Frog a couple months ago, I was all like: "Dang! There's some crazy creations out there that should be featured on a blog!"
Thus the "God Made This Thing" blog was born.
As a designer, I get inspired when I see other designer's creative, crazy, original designs. As a human, it astounds me that the most creative, crazy, original stuff can still be found in the created world. Our creator has a pretty impressive never-before-seen portfolio.
So... take this Industrial Light and Magic.
